Google+ Evangelist - OMG its ME!!!
I was lucky to be an early adopter of Google+ and have written about it and all the incredible things I see in the future, all the fabulous uses for all the pieces that make up my fav social media platform, nay its more than that.. From deep informative posts about everything from space and physics to being green: fashion tips and furkids and quite literally everything in between! (not meaning to be a little ditty .. if the shoe fits)
I am head over heels for Google+. I am madly, passionately, deliriously in love with Google+.
Every knows, from my mother (who isn’t online), family and friends from here to the south pacific, my mentor Mari Smith to the slightly startled guy at the Canadian Tire in Orleans..
He was talking to his (wife/partner/girlfriend) and said something about social… I didn’t even realize I had ejected myself into his conversation until, forced to take a breathe I saw the quizzical look in his eye…
“Pardon me lady”, he said “Is that another social thing like ‘the facebook’?” (Yup he said “The Facebook”) like it was an album or something. I launched into my now daily spiel.
I extolled the virtues of What’s Trending, I lauded the depth of posts by some of the worlds top minds, I chuckled about the #caturday pix and swooned over the fabulous photographers. I was in the middle of an explanation of a hangout with the Dalai Lama and Bishop Tutu and I realized that I was now one of those people..
I was an Evangelist!!! Here I am in a box store going gaga for Google+ and shouting it from the rooftops…
Jeremy Katz spoke about my friend Heather Fay (in his article - link here) talking about Google+ and how it changed her life. I value what Heather said and know that since day one I knew this was where I needed to be!
So meet me in a hangout or in the stream.. Elaine on Google+
Elaine, I feel that enthusiasm from this post and I must agree. Google+ is such a great social platform to be on. Being open and honest is one of the things we need to be when we are marketing. Google+ gives us a great chance to do this.
We can share our passions, like shoes, places to visit ect. so people can get to know us better and feel more comfortable with us. When they do, they are more apt to come into our “fold”
I have gotten so many people from my “I love shoes” board than anything else. Go figure!
Cheers,
Donna
Donna,
You are right and I so love that everyone’s passions are so varied.. from #Caturday to esoteric math videos.. Love it all
Hi Elaine, I share your enthusiasm for Google+ especially the Hangouts on Air feature. I’ve sat in on a few and I’m ready to start inviting people to my own. I was a supporter of Google Buzz so I have a lot of contacts that carried over to G+. Thanks for your encouragement I’m so glad you understand how important the platform is.
